...my comic book collection
doesn't come to life tonight
and try to murder me in my
sleep

...that all the angels and mercies
above don't go out of business

...our government gets it's head
out of it's ass so they can see that
the sun shines on the whole
human race

...people finally realized that
names can hurt as badly as sticks
and stones

...the world slows down enough to
notice an old dog sleeping on the
porch in summer, then understood
that it's the most beautiful sight
God ever created

...i don't self immolate with the fire
of poetry

...we all manage to live through this
night, then let's get drunk for a month
and shave all the sheep in Wales naked
and shove a ball gag in their mouths
while we sing " Louie Louie "

...we should meet in passing then
may no judgment be passed one
to the other for this time is short
and soon we shall pass

 but for now...
