Image for the poem As She Waits

As She Waits

She kneels as she waits with baited breath
Her hands behind her in perfect even ties
Will he entice soft wistful moans,
Or sting to hear her cries

She is a picture if calm peacefulness
He cannot see the storm within
Her body shivers as she waits
As his breath feathers across her skin

'Stand' is all he says and she rises to her feet
As she waits she hears his footsteps circle her
He stops before her and firmly holds her chin
Looks deep into her eyes checking to make sure

His hand brushes gently caressing her cheek
As his thumb moves her soft parted lips
He rests his forehead on hers 'Mine' he states
She closes her eyes sighing softly as she waits

He stands up tall with rope in hand
His fingers slide down to her collar rings
Her breaths tremble as she waits
Threaded rope left hanging as he begins

As he works she stand silent and still
His hands so gentle as knots align
Smiling softly as she waits knowing
He takes only what she wills
