.:Too Much, Too Many:.

::

too many moments alone wishing a few we could’ve saved
too many have family meals of TV and microwave
too many grandkids; they sneak while watching porn
too many grown too fast; it’s the adulthood they adorn
too many soldiers deployed policing in foreign lands
too many were in Iraq; now they’re in Afghanistan
too many walled streets occupied while others they get seized
too many bloated pockets filled by greedy thieves
too many students amassing a great deal of student debt
too many of those students propped up by a gambler’s bet
too many fathers; their faces in their hands
too many mothers crying out in many different lands
too many straights wishing they were cheerful as the gay
too many gays wishing the straights would let it lay
too many accountants writing; running out of that red ink
too many visuals shown; no permit to stop & think
too many serious words appearing as a joke
too many jokers shake salt until they have that stroke
too many talking heads trying to shape our every thought
too many partisan out here; nothing but the bought
too many cowards fold who’ve sold their very soul
too many truths silenced; the realities go untold
