Image for the poem Tonight

Tonight

Tonight, when I
dance around the bonfire
dressed in starshine only -
blame it on the moon!

Tonight, when I
chant ancient rhymes
to the rhythm of my heartbeat -
blame it on the moon!

Tonight, when I
roam the woods
howling with my wolf pack –
blame it on the moon!

Tonight, when I
lose my mind
and don’t want to get it back -
blame it on the moon!

Tonight, when I
whisper love-stoned words
of burning desire into your ear -
blame it on me!
