Unspoken

He wears a scare on his face
From the corner of his mouth
To his mid right cheek.

He never talks about it
But they know scares come from wounds
Some things are better learned in silence.

Her heart trembles at thoughts of him leaving
Throught death or infidelity
With the burden of three children.

She never talks about it
Watching him sleep gripping his pillow
instead of her.

The oldest knows dad is leaving soon
But the time is uncertain
The duration is to be determined
He hates airports because they take daddy

He never talks about it
Instead he follows his father around
Absorbing every moment.

The Suga Momma, only girl
Knows her duties will increase
Helping mom with everything thing
And deals with the boys

Suga never talks about it
She feels the strain that comes over mom
She knows daddy will be back home.

Baby boy reaches up
Maybe because he is tired of crawling
Or wants to move as fast as everyone else
Smiling a making noise with excitement

Baby boy never talks about it
Or maybe he does
And they aren't able to comprehend.

He grabs his U.S. green duffle bag
Heading towards the airport gates again.
