so alone

a short story


eyes open as retina's expand
taking in more light
dust settles on my face
softly caressing my cheeks
soft wind blows my hair around
almost feels reassuring

boom boom boom

suddenly as memory meets flesh
my heart beats faster
my chest becomes clogged with the realisation
that all is not well

boom boom boom

slowly i turn my head around and see the inevitable
my eyes, oh i so hope that you lie to me
concrete so cold on my bare back
blood trickling into my mouth

boom boom boom

please lie to me, spare me from this chapter
smoke fills my lungs as i draw in my breath
fingertips now touching the concrete as i stand up
glass pieces fall to to ground

no please eyes please decieve me
my brain and heart conspire against my emotions
i kneel down next to the metalic coffin
wheels still turning

boom boom boom

no no no no no she lies so still
her hand reaching out to me, so lifeless
her nails still painted but so blue
a lifetimes memories squeezed into a second
running through my mind

boom boom boom

my heart beats alone now
tears drown my eyes and my tongue declares my sadness
i have lost my sweetest angel, my true hearts desire
she now lies still in her metalic coffin
