dystopian nightmare

dystopian nightmare
                     so apposite
                    to opposites
of dreams i long to dream!
dialectical fanfare
                    a deficit
                    where counterfeits
create a new extreme
                    the apple they have eaten
                                        by that old serpent beaten
                                                            can paradise be sweetened
                                                                                when mankind goes east of eden?

the falling leaves of trees
                    destined to die
                    by shame’s outcry
barbed by the garden gate
land of calamities
                    all must comply
                    to modify
the penalty of fate
                    the soul that sins shall perish
                                        (the curse of adam’s blemish)
                                                            thorns now the earth embellish
                                                                                while in pain man’s seed replenish

the burden of the cross
                    of calvary
                    for you and me
one Man for all mankind
what sacrificial loss
                    pharaoh’s decree
                    brought misery
when death Christ’s soul confined
                   the earth reels from the fever
                                        sparked by the wild deceiver
                                                            may every true believer
                                                                                find escape to His Utopia
