Dryads

dryads dancing in the trees
disappearing when
human interlopers
are passing by and then

from the trees returning
into their secret glades
joyfully they mingle
after daylight fades...

luminescent beings
flitting here and there
loved by all the creatures
in this place they share

together in a temple
open to the sky
rising up among the trees
in awe without a why...

all the natural rhythms
the phases of the Moon
reflected sunlight bouncing
create a dancing tune

the rustle of the leaves
wind moving through the heights
of the trees...just visible
the intertwining lights

of dryads dancing in the trees
disappearing when
human interlopers
are passing by again...
