Extinction
I walk along a broken cement
Balancing heel to toe
Intoxicated by thoughts of who, what, when, where, and how?
Did I get here?
Staggering in my nature,
I must survive
Time flashes a developing postcard
Wearied and worn
This soul
Aimlessly wanders
I must meet my feat
Defeat, maybe
Fate
To fall to my knees
Sword in place, anything...
Not to realize
I'm extinct...
A warrior with no purpose, at all
Time has outgrown the need for he or she...
Her or him...
Diplomacy and rhetoric replaces the need for sword and steel
Though I breathe and exist...
Wistful wishes on a tumbleweed
A distant memory
I'm extinct
