Back then
I woke up to the pitter-patter of the rain
A morning show on tv, No classes yet again
The sweet sound the rice would make as the salt and garlic mix
An innocent look inside the mirror, As the light in my eyes would fix
I sit in front of the TV in my grandmother’s old room
use my feet as a remote, a lot of space to bloom
And sometimes I would lie, lie down on the floor
As I watched Cartoon network, nickelodeon and more
Oh how simple life used to be
One big accomplishment, would be climbing up a tree
Running oh so fast with my hands far behind
And not a lot of problems running through my mind
No love taken, No love lost
Taking for granted, at no cost
No deadlines, No bills, And I didn’t care when
All I can say is, life was much better then.
