♪INKling No13—regrets♪

“People always say life is too short for regrets.
But the truth is, it's too long.”―Sarah Addison Allen

could i revive dead flow’rs i’ve blithely trampled
regurgitate forbidden fruit i’ve sampled
claim each lost chance i did not take
bring comfort where i’ve spread heartache
recall harsh, sullen
words i’ve used
atone for rights
i have abused
if i could bid
my cunning wits
contend no more
with counterfeits
would i not quicken now my path
to sow peace where i’ve kindled wrath
come daylight, let the earth’s sweet songs
recalculate my rights and wrongs!
