DAFT'O DIL
I pen this ode to a certain flower
when I am finished I'll need to shower
I speak about the daffodil
in Scotland we call it a DAFTodill
daft equals stupid in our definition
it looks like it went through circumcision
it's stupid enough to be coloured yellow
a daffodil is a brainless fellow
stupid enough to be sometimes white
helping it grow a pile of horse shite
yellow the colour of cowardice
yellow the colour of bats' piss
and that's what it smells off
makes me choke makes me cough
too stupid to change
this plant simply deranged
allowing themselves to be picked
from public gardens, they're nicked
way too stupid to mutineer
they'll be back again next year
some poets wax lyrical of the daffodil
I wish it nothing but an ill will
they say you can talk to plants
I'd rather converse with elephants
who will fuckin eat anything
eating daffodils their trunks would swing
that's my solution
there'll be now absolution
for this ugly stupid, flower
the elephants will devour

Hey get your elephants off my lawn the daft odills are all tied off, nothing to see, keep them elephants moving.

Grins and Giggles...David! What a sight that would be, to observe an elephant munching on 'DAFT'O DILS'!!! Ummm...I have always been quite fond of Daffodils...tho i DO admit, that your piece certainly has me thinking about them from an entirely different perspective! ( and your description of their fragrance...welll.......i think it quite a fitting one at that! (Hee! Hee! ) i visited a bat habitat at a zoo, about 6 yrs ago, and i can understand your correlation!
