I Wish I Was a Poem
Oh, how I wish I could
be those meaningful words
carefully placed on pure
paper destined for greatness.
I would be deep and thoughtful;
designed to move forward
and be read by all,
and loved.
So much thought would be
put into making me perfect
and attention would be
all on me until that was achieved.
Oh, how I wish I was a poem.
I could calm the darkest
storm inside a tormented
soul like mine;
I could save a life,
just like mine.
I would be needed,
I would never be alone.
Surrounded by others,
similar, but yet
so vastly different;
an individual.
Kept secret, or shout to
the whole world.
Carefully crafted into a diary
or published in a book,
it would not matter
for my creator
would love me either way.
