Most days
Waking up is heavy lifting...
Minds already drifting...
Tell myself "today will be different"
"You dont have to be so distant"
Brush my teeth, brush my hair,
"You will not feel the deep despair"
Get dressed! "IGNORE THE PRESSURE IN YOUR CHEST"
"FOCUS!" "you can do this, I promise you'll get through this!"
Make the coffee, wake the kids,
Take a breathe, dont let this win.
Get them dressed, clean up their mess
"You do not have to be depressed!"
Smile politely, nod contritely
"You can choose to see things brightly!"
Lift up you chin, put on a grin,
It's time to face the day again.
