Repenting
Forgive me
For the times I never held you
And told you that I cared
For giving you my love
When love was never there
For kissing at the air
Instead of on your lips
For hoping that your arms
Would wrap around my hips
For holding onto you
When I should’ve run
For doubting it was true
And saying I was done
For the nights I fell asleep
Wanting it to end
For waking up that morning
Wondering why I pretend
For giving into sadness
When sadness wasn’t real
For chasing your emotions
So my selfish mind could feel
I’m sorry
For the times I never held you
And told you that I cared
For giving you my love
When love was never there
For kissing at the air
Instead of on your lips
For hoping that your arms
Would wrap around my hips
For holding onto you
When I should’ve run
For doubting it was true
And saying I was done
For the nights I fell asleep
Wanting it to end
For waking up that morning
Wondering why I pretend
For giving into sadness
When sadness wasn’t real
For chasing your emotions
So my selfish mind could feel
I’m sorry
