What They Said
I tried to approach you,
But the stories I heard
Made me scared,
They made me blue.
I longed to give you an embrace
But they said you were mad
With my kind.
So I hid my face.
I wanted to look into your eyes
But they said you were a fire breathing monster,
And it would end for me in disaster...
Every thought of you brought me cries.
I wanted to write you a song
But they said I wasn't worthy.
I wasn't holy.
My kind belonged to the dung.
They told me you kill people,
And you had a knack for remembering wrong
That your anger was extremely strong.
And your laws were not for the feeble.
Now I know they
Did not speak
Your mind,
No!
