I Lie Awake
I lie awake this very night,
Thinking about us…
How everything between us has turned out just right.
We have been through so much together.
Nothing has managed to tear us apart.
Not even this bad “weather”…
I lie awake this very night,
Remembering every fight that we have ever struggled through.
We have made it out of the darkness and into the light.
Overcoming our struggles and hardships are something that we do.
We have made it through…
I gaze at the beautiful handmade ring.
The ring that you gave me when you promised eternity.
It may only be a simple thing,
But it symbolizes our love,
And represents our life together.
