Trials and Executions

They are quick to judge with blind anger,
They fear that which they don’t understand, 
In the halls of justice the ignorance clangors, 
When the words of a child can rule the land. 

But in dark times they take the necessary steps, 
To fight evil forces that have been raised, 
And they are all fueled by the mass hysteria, 
Fooled by their belief when they are just as crazed. 

The righteous, like a mob of demons possessed, 
Hover over the accused with law and sacred will, 
Unjustly condemning as they’ve become obsessed, 
Like hungry wolves with a virtuous thirst to kill. 

So with divine right they take certain delight, 
In punishing the flesh for the poor soul’s sake, 
And with inhumane rite they deliver a sentence, 
By hanging them and burning them at the stake. 

And they all gather around to watch the punishment, 
As cries and screams fill the air which weren’t deserved, 
Falsely accused and wrongly judged, they kill the innocent, 
While amidst the crowds the witches quietly observe.
