My Blues Are A Lifting
Started noticing it, without much sleep, the entire night
Then would reappear, at the crack of daylight
Fuzzy feelings, fainting and wheezing
Falling asleep at the wheel
Losing ones appetite for a meal
Hot sweats one moment, then went to freezing
My blues are a lifting
‘Cause the way I now feel
They are a shifting
Still take my blue pill
It makes me fit into society
Mind you, not entirely over this anxiety.
Came across the blues
Very early on, in my life
Didn’t know the answer
It came with no clues
Now I’m in all sorts of strife
Captured in my head, like an exotic dancer
It can make one feel, like the living dead
Maybe it’s one feeling, that’s better unsaid
My blues are a lifting
‘Cause the way I now feel
They are a shifting
Still take my blue pill
It makes me fit into society
Mind you, not entirely over this anxiety
After being locked away
Just so I wouldn’t stray
Coming home, but still in despair
Family and friends, didn’t really care
Taking my pills, paying the bills
Been down to the valley and over the hills
My ups and downs, now sort of predicting
I don’t seem to be all at sea, like an anchor drifting
My blues are a lifting
‘Cause the way I now feel
They are a shifting
Still take my blue pill
It makes me fit into society
Mind you, not entirely over this anxiety.
