Shades of My Eyes
Lifted the shades of my eyes & saw daylight
Living to see another day is a blessed delight
Overnight, there're many who've transitioned on
Did you hear the sounds of the trumpets & horns
Signaling storms pouring on the lives of others
Because someone's lost their mother or father
Thunder & lightning invading all their emotions
Feeling like they're drowning in dark, blue oceans
As we focus on the trivial things of this day
Many wish their loved ones could've stayed
There's no way to easily tell them goodbye
The strongest of us still get tears in our eyes
Say hi to passersby even if you don't know them
It's little things that help others continue to swim
One day you'll be one of them, needing the same
Your smile can be a gem for the others in this game
