Day Surrendering Unto Night
Caring not what lies far below,
Only what is to come and what will follow.
I shudder at your sensuous caress.
And abandon my will and my very essence,
Still I turn not from your piercing gaze,
But instead allow all to be displayed.
Wishing for the touch of your hand,
Knowing only you can understand.
I am lost when you are not around,
Back to with you is how I am found.
Before the ebbing moment comes,
Then embrace our desire to blossom.
Our passion casts a glow so bright,
And softly fades as amber light.
And when our time draws us apart,
We race to the end or return at the start.
To the one in whom I submissively keep,
I willingly succumb to restful sleep.
To share all that once alone was mine,
In equal the measure and equal the time.
The comfort that we both can give,
Because of you I know I live.
But together we can never stay,
For you are night and I am day.
