Safe World
When I finally unravelled
There was nothing left
To hold me together
Just twisted strands
Lying on the ground
Threads of reality snapped
Eyes unopened
Fearing the wasteland of my soul
A lonely heartbeat breaking silence
Keep me in the darkness
Don’t wake me up
Not ready to face what’s outside
These four walls
Breathe for me
Comfort me
Soak up the the tears
Dampen the pain
My safe world for now

One day at a time, AP. One day at a time. We heal and put ourselves back together the best we can - there is no instruction manual nor timeframe for that.
