Fake Hugs
Cordial unfamiliar
Friendly
Like I barely know you
Like you’re merely an acquaintance
Or a friends wife
How hard it is to pretend
When people are watching
Like we mean
So little to each other
When we both know how we feel
Agonizing
How we must put up this facade
I’d almost
Wish to not touch you in this way
Because it feels like a betrayal
To what we both know
Is a love that has to be
Embraced
In a way
That’s blatantly erotic
But we must put on this pretense
Or
We run the risk
Of making it obvious
We’re avoiding each other
And I also
Would kill my self
For missing out
On an opportunity...
To feel your body next to mine
