Reflections of A Child

A picture's worth a thousand words
And actions are described by verbs
Can you see what this pic reveals
It reminds me of childhood thrills

It unveils the carefree days of a child
Before exposure to the savage & wild
When dreams ascended beyond the stars
When it wasn't farfetched to fly to Mars

Before scars of varying degrees of healing
Oh how I miss that wonderful feeling
Before dealing with responsibility daily
When still cherished as momma's baby

Unfortunately those days have come and gone
Now I'm a man who understands that life goes on
My Granny's gone and that was a major blow
If you truly know me then you already know

But the show must continue to go no matter what
Time stops for no one even when you're in a rut
So strut like you've got a million bucks in the bank
Be the Captain of your vessel and never let it sink
