Roses Were Red

My Roses were red
My violets were blue
Then you came along
You tore my heart in two

You made me feel special
Then took away all pleasure
And you left me alone
With a chilling edge in your tone

Roses can be red, and violets can be blue
Emotions can take you, they split you in two
You wonder why that person makes you want to cry
You wonder why you have to tell them goodbye

My roses were red, my violets were blue.
I am racing against myself, wondering what I should do
Looking for a moment in which I can feel like I have won
A moment to know that he is the one

Because my roses are not red, violets not blue
Its impossible to believe, I managed to fall away
I don’t know why I can’t decide
I don’t know why they make my want to hide

My roses will never be red, violets never blue
In order to set my heart free, I must run, I must flee
Away from the people that put me off balance
Into a place where it is me I can be.
