bot fly brouhaha

Bot fly: " I am tired of fighting other flies over dead meat"
Momma bot fly: " and my poor maggot dearlings, just left to crawl around"

Well, honey,
after some thoughtful deliberations, I have come up with a plan.

Oh, Dear, Please tell, PLEASE!

Well, what we are going to do, is, well, we will evolve,
so that our baby maggot larvae crawl out of you
when they are really small, I mean,
under the microscope small.

Why dear, why do I have to let them crawl out when they are so tiny?

Well, they are going to have to hitch a ride on a mosquito.

Why, I was just chatting with Molly Mosquito just yesterday...

Well, honey, there is no talking anymore,
you are going to have to get a little rough.

Why, I like it rough honey, but...

Well honey, what I am going to need you to do,
is pretend that poor bastard mosquito is ,
 well, me, and go ahead and grab her.
 Just grab onto a she-mosquito really really hard,
and squirt some baby maggots onto her legs and...

Why honey, you wouldn't mind?
you wouldn't get jealous of
a little action between me and Molly-mosquito?

Well No, honey, you see, if you enjoy it,
well more power to you, I mean,
you are going to have to have an urge to do it,
you know, be on the prowl for a lady mosquito..

OK, honey, I will if you ask,
but what will happen to my baby maggot?
 
Ms. Mosquito is going to fly away,
and I don't think she cares if
they get any dinner or a place to stay.

Well honey, not to worry.  I have watched lady mosquitos carefully, and all they want to do is fly around and bite animals, and suck their blood.  You see, they have this very sharp needle for a mouth, and they stab it into a human, or a cat, then drink their blood.

That sounds so tasty, I wish I could do that.

Well Honey, what you need to do, is tell your baby maggot larvae, that this is the time they need to crawl off of Ms. Mosquito, and onto the animal that is getting the blood sucked out of them.

Once Ms. Mosquito is done, she will fly away, leaving behind a freshly punctured hole.  Tell the little ones to crawl down it.  There, they will get all the blood and meat that they want to eat.

they never need to leave the hole, just grow and grow and grow, then one day, they will turn into a full grown fly, and dig their way out, and fly away.

Oh honey, I will be so proud of our little mosquito riding, blood sucking hole burrowing maggot babies!
