The Day After Day
Life weaves a miraculous pattern
string after string stitched together
thru time,
a continuum of construction
amid all this destruction
a breaking down then building up
of heart, of body, of mind
but it's not always kind
the pain, the ache, the grind
it's the simple that works
the gifting of hope
when troubles elope
and we feel
God do we feel
The day after day
when thoughts lift away
and you think, you'll never try that again
but you will
because like love
the euphoria runs high
and the sorrows sit off to the side

Why do we say we'll never try something again when we know we probably will? It's that persistent streak in us to get it right finally, isn't it? But where would we be if we didn't keep trying?
