The Other Side Of Me (Sonnet)

You hoped to own my darkness, not my light:
You fucked that side of me free from sunshine;
I know that, in your shadow, I could write
Unmitigated crap: contexts declined
To set me free; for liberty contrived
To show softness that's strong: it is, in form,
Invisible and feminine; it strived
To weave my world together, once the storm
Of your oppression died: you'd so deceive
My heart, it fractured quite intractably;
I could barely withstand you or relieve
Your ownership by our intimacy;
But somehow I survived and now ignite
My words by fucking freely in the light...
