A Twist Of A Vampire’s Fate XXIV
I Will Die A Thousand Times for You
HOTEL CENTRAL PARK
Sighisoara, Romania
The elevator doors opened.
Naynina rushed through the hotel lobby. She made it over to the door, several guests blocked her street view.
“Excuse me.”
Naynina elbowed her way through the congested bodies.
A policeman stood in front of the door.
Naynina saw something, resembling a grayish-coated animal lying in the middle of the street. She covered her mouth after seeing a pack of, “Wolves?” standing vigilant around the injured wolf.
Each wolf showcased sharp canine teeth, when a reporter attempted to cross into their territory.
Naynina turned toward the police officer.
“Sir, are those, wolves?”
“Yes, the animal control is on the way, and we’re asking all the guests to remain inside, until this problem has been addressed.”
“I need to…I need to get to my car, for…for my medicine.”
“Ma’am, until those creatures have been contained, no one will be allowed to leave these premises.”
“But.”
A voice broke through over the police officer’s, shoulder speaker microphone.
Naynina backed up, through the crowd. She turned and ran through the hotel entrance foyer. She looked for an exit door. She looked around. She pulled her shirt down over her hand.
Naynina elbowed the glassed fire alarm casing, and then pulled down the fire alarm. She cranked her neck sideways to look out toward the open foyer. She noticed the hotel manager was directing the mass ambulating guests to exit the side door.
Naynina ran toward the side exit door, she opened it, and stepped out. She ran down the alleyway; she sniffed the air and suddenly stopped.
Several guests ran around her presence. She walked toward the front of the hotel as the guests ran toward her; dipping around her presence, as her footsteps lead her to the front of the hotel.
The police officer was deterring the flow of traffic away from the hotel.
Naynina slowly made her way over to the circled pack of wolves.
The police officer turned around.
“Get back. Those animals could be rabid.”
The police officer ran up to Naynina.
Time stopped.
Naynina looked around, not one person’s presence could be accounted as moving.
What the hell is going on here she thought.
Naynina slightly shook her head. She sniffed the air once again. She turned to investigate the aroma arresting her nostrils. Naynina slowly advanced to where the pack of wolves stood their ground.
One of the wolves, flashed his canine teeth. He sniffed the air.
“I need to help; the wolf that lays over there is immobile and needs some form of attention.”
And why was she talking to a damn animal.
The pack of wolves slowly parted for Naynina’s entrance.
Naynina looked at the wolf that flashed its teeth as she gradually made it within the circle.
The pack of wolves enclosed Naynina’s presence within the circle.
Naynina rushed over to the injured wolf and kneeled on her knees. Her eyes soaked in the sight of blood pouring from several puncture bites. She rubbed her palm over the darkish-grayish flurry coat. She looked around. Naynina lifted her wrist and bit into it. She placed her wrist near the mouth of the motionless wolf.
The wolf did not stir.
“Sebestyn, I smell your presence. I do not understand any of this, when you wake up, you will have the sole responsibility of explaining, but for that to happen, I need for you to open your eyes, and heal yourself, please.”
Naynina returned her bleeding wrist to front of the wolf’s mouth.
Vacome heard voices hammering his subconscious. He could not understand, why he could not push his presence through to return to man; he felt he was dying.
“Please, I know you can heal yourself.”
Vacome heard a soft voice on the other side of his sub-conscious. He associated the smell with the voice.
Naynina help me, I’m dying, I need your blood.
Naynina opened Vacome’s mouth. She pulled out his tongue and persistently rubbed her wrist against it. Her blood coated Vacome’s tongue.
Vacome felt tiny pulsates charging throughout his body. The pain of his ripped flesh was beginning to diminish from the puncture bites he received. He lifted his head.
Naynina’s palm caressed Vacome’s fur.
Vacome rolled over; he wobbled to regain his strength on all fours.
Two wolves came to stand by him. All three ran away, the rest of the pack of wolves fell into line.
The wolf pack ran in the direction of the forest.
The wolf she assisted stopped and turned around. He looked at her, turned, and then joined the rest of the wolves converging into the forest.
