WHY ASK WHY?
Above all the beauties
walking God's green earth.
Why is it I so inspires his verse?
Big nose, small breasts,
no curves extolling worth.
Questioning, still in his words I immerse.
Sincere, at my altar he kneels.
Adoring the goddess he perceives
One in whom I begin to believe.

Author's Note
Inspired by the "I...muse" competition. Like canvas, paint, and brushes muses are placed in my path supplying beauty, grace, and intelligence that inspires my writing . There are billions of souls on this planet, hence, many billion forms of beauty. My aim is to accentuate the beauty and instill a sense of great worth in my muse.

Thank you, Teri! I hope the message come through that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder and that begins with a look in the mirror and appreciating what we have and not comparing our attributes with those of another.

Thank you, Ahavati! I hesitated with the passage about physical attributes but I think that our society of body shaming convinces us that we have to look a certain way to be considered beautiful. I guess what I was trying to say is that we shouldn't buy into that BS.

When I read this entry in the comp offline I paused, completely struck by the simple thought...which comes first...the muse or the writer? Is it like gods where their deification requires worship to exist? Does the muse come into being from our believing? Beautiful thoughts you provoke with this one. I'm so glad you entered it! ~Willow~

Thank you, Ash. I truly enjoyed writing from the muse perspective. I wrote a piece once, inspired by a muse, that mentioned how beautiful is her nose. She commented how she hated her nose but I find it elegant and sexy. That's why I mention some commonly self-berated physical attributes in the piece. Attraction is a fascinating science. My hope was that my muse would feel more kinship with her beautiful proboscis.

This sentiment is so damn beautiful in itself! How precious a gift it is to you to find inspiration in all forms, but also to be that person who never realized their beauty....This speaks volumes about you & sheds a whole new light too!!

Thank you, Pandora! I am never insincere about beauty. If I write of my muse and extol their beauty...they are genuinely beautiful to me
