There Is No Sound
There is no sound
No words are spoken as we walk holding hands
Arriving back home after a movie date that turned into another boxing match
Silent tears I tried so hard to hide but you caught them in the corner of my eye
There is no sound as you shoved me through my front door
There is no sound
No sound as my head slams against the hard wood floors
Another hit and another punch again and again
My ribs cry out and my lungs squeal for air
But still there is no sound ringing through my ears
There is no sound
As I wake up in a pile where you left me to bleed
Holding back my cried as I pull myself of the floor
Stumbling towards the bathroom before my family returns home
I have to stay silent once more
There is no sound
Nothing but silence fills the room as I explain what you've been doing to me
Rick's face so red with rage but he doesn't utter a single curse
My heart splits in two as he says why did you hide this for three months
No excuse except I was afraid then silently he pulls me in his embrace
There is no sound
No sound for the broken hearted
No sound for the battled scared
No sound for the timid and shy
No sound for the beaten and abused
Staying silent because of the fear of the unknown
Keeping bruises hidden due to the silent disgusted stares
Staying quiet because if he knew I squeled he'll beat me even more
There is no sound beside silence for the broken and battle scared
No words are spoken as we walk holding hands
Arriving back home after a movie date that turned into another boxing match
Silent tears I tried so hard to hide but you caught them in the corner of my eye
There is no sound as you shoved me through my front door
