Hush My Darling

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry

Constant fear and slient screams how do I get you to stop hitting me
Feeling as if I still need you more than ever even after what you did to me
Hit after hit and broken trust this is what you do to me
Never saying that you were sorry for what you did to me

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry

Only comfort is laying down in the cool grass staring up at the big blue sky
Wishing one day good will save me from you and I'll be free again
Cringing at your every move even in public makes the audience stare
That cold look in your eyes and I know what is coming when we get back home

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry

Long sleeve shirt and jeans is my only option of hiding the bruises
Keeping people from asking to twenty questions
Wanting desperately to say enough is enough no more
Though no is not what you bargained for another attack and I am on the bathroom floor

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry

Keep my distance from your awful mind games its been days since you came by
Showing up with that wicked look deep within your eyes
Dragging me down the hall screaming I don't want to go out
Then you did the unthinkable and I am tumbling and falling down the stairs

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry

Flashing lights and sirens fill the slience with my mind
Pain erupting through my body and you saying you deserve it bitch
Cops handcuffing you and dragging you out the door
I'm staring into the eyes of a paramedic saying he shoved me down the stairs

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry

Eyes open to a client hospital room and my uncle curled up next to me
Pain over comes my senses and I stare out the window
Broken tailbone and sperated shoulder only because I didn't want to go out
Never again will I let you hurt me this way

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry
But you meant every one of those terrible attacks
You mean to make me pay when you shoved me down those stairs
You wanted that pride of manhandling me
Knowing that I was terrified of you and that I was to scared to leave you

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry

Never again will I let you make me cry
Never again will I let you hurt me that way
Never again will I let you back in my life
Never again because I am worth so much more than that

Hush my darling don't you cry I didn't mean to make you cry
