and see agony
silence fills the air
as the bustling streets are filled
and the people come out of there homes
and the markets and shops open.
silence is all around in the stores
on the play grounds.
at the schools where children
are suppose to learn
but they dont
silence is all around
as smiling faces
truly hid the sorrow filled
frowns.
that look up at the cieling every night
and begin to fight sleep
and contemplate
yet hesitate
and toss and turn
and scream and cry
silence fills the buildings
and cubicles of workers
who just hate their jobs so damn much.
silence fills the mother's heart
as she watches her child grow
into a monster.
silence is in the alleys and trash cans
and dumpster
that the homeless man
eats from
silence fills the musician
who is fighting addiction
who has a child who misses daddy
who has a teacher that calls on that
child who is unprepared.
silence fills the court house
as a verdict is about to be made.
silence fills the jail cell
of the innocent man who awaits death.
silence fills the mind of the
kid who wants to fit in
the kid who fingers the gun in his backpack
that he is holding
in his lap
in the middle of class
contemplating in silence if
he should do it.
silence brings a poor old man
closer to god.
silence holds the tongue
of the victim
in the silences
who just wants this
to be enough.
silence lingers around a struggling pedophile's hand
who is just one click away
from selling his life over.
silence is in the air
