If my daughter asks...

Tell her I was a man's man...  
I pressed my pants daily...  
     Could tie my own tie  
     Polished my shoes  
     Smelled like a man should  
     Walked with my head up  
     Prayed with my head down  
I loved her as a man should  
      "without question"...  
     Even when it seemed like I was upset; my love for her never wavered...  
Let her know ...  
I lived for her smile, her holding my hand , hearing her call my name...  
I tried to made sure I told her everyday of her life,  "I love You"...  
     I need her to understand ...  
     I tried to be the standard by which all other relationships in her life     
      should be measured...  
No one should be allowed to lay a hand on her...  
She should fear no one and know that God will always be on her side  
     as he was on mine  
That I learned from my mistakes but not always after the first time..  
My friends were few but they all enriched me...  
    Less is more in this case...  
She should always trust her first reaction to most situations...  
Treat family as they treat you ...  
Know that loyaty isn't the same as obligation...  
Knowledge is always key...  
And...  
When she needs me, she  just has to call my name...  
I will always be by her side...
