Solitude
Solitude in dark, quiet spaces…
So like the world I knew before,
Where I cried in the emptiness.
I wanted it to be your ghost;
A shade to haunt my nights
In the ceaseless sound of dreams.
Fireflies and lanterns line the dark,
And there is gold upon your face.
Will you reach for me as I reach for you?
My steps trace back to a lovelier spring,
When I did not know love or death.
I want to take you to horizons of the past
And know you for the first time.
We can watch the rise and fall,
Lament for lights once gold.
We can see it all,
In the solitude.
