This Is My Fate

I was born from darkness
I was brewed from hate
Looking for happiness
But struggling with fate

I sink deep in the void
Rushing into the emptiness
Slung back by my own desire
To find love so infinite

But I’m bad at this game
I don’t know the rules to play
I dance to my core instinct
Carved out by my selfish ways

I want to jump in the deep end
But I’m too scared to swim
Maybe I’m too scared of love
Despite my being full to the brim

Hearts being torn in many ways
But my heads thinking clearly
What am I holding onto?
And why do I cling so dearly?

I don’t fear the darkness anymore
I drink it in so deep and overzealously
Cause there’s nothing I fear more
Than something treated so delicately

Because if love is to be cherished
And death is merely the inevitable
Then my love is too rapacious for you
I suffice to say for this I’m ineligible

Because I was born from darkness
And brewed from such hate
I’m always seeking happiness
But I daresay that this is my fate
