Manhood

Someone once told me that a man shouldn't cry

That his worst demeanour should be read as 'wry'

Always sure of his next step in mind

Unabated by forces of any kind

Certainty, of every second's transmutable tendency

Steady as a rock ,Immune to any shock

Moving on forward ,looking over shoulders

The path to trod on,as far as the horizon, should have no boulders

That someone never told me how to face my fears

But just to bite out the pain and swallow my tears

That someone is not there for me anymore

The wrath of inner turmoil can be concealed no more

Was it worth living a life of drowned emotion

To live through all that inner anguish, An unhealthy devotion

You know our idea of being strong, is conceptually wrong

When we model manhood from the stone gods of an era bygone

The worth of a man is the deed of his hand

Not the times he made his stand

For the bad he saw past

Unapologetic is the way of the savage

A straight face in pain isn't the symbol of courage

Learn to stride through mistakes with acceptance

Let the rage and sorrow out, Its the world's inheritance

The first step to being a man is being HUMAN
