I Think I Think
I think a lot about cognitive dissonance and the distance between sanity and reality and what that all really means to me. I think about names and labels and how they’re the same thing but praises are sung when wars aren’t won and the battle’s been lost but they say it’s okay because it’s all just in the name of the game. I like to think about counting rabbits and hares, always splitting hairs, being right every time we fight. I think a lot, I think. About how brains work and people move, a person’s heart beats their own tune, and we’re a melody as long as we long to get along. I think people were made to be a symphony. To light sparklers and hold them against the sun and ask which is brighter. I think we were never made to think.
