In Icicle Tones
Your stare spoke to me in icicle tones.
Can’t you see I’m full of light?
I’m a frozen sunbeam in the presence of others.
Sleeting tears, geysers billowing
from the permafrost of my underlying emotions.
So poignantly have I expressed myself to you.
My thawing eyes undam, spilling the torrent of tears!
Yet, this glacial gaze remains.
My glee thawed away like snow in sunshine.
