A thousand cuts with razors
are less precise than these
questionably invisible slashes
So easily, deceptively ignored.
In my peripheral I see blood
hit the same ground as me.

Grief can definitely be liken to an invisible two-edged blade.

I can empathize, and there have been times when I actually took stock of the damage (so to speak) I fell. Into depression, or despair - it didn't matter because I could no longer stand.

After my Fiancee died in 1976,
i didn't deal with my grief very well and lived a very
destructive lifestyle -- taking lots of chances and not caring if i lived or died. This particular grief lasted 30+ years. & when new grief piles on the weight can feel ominously heavy.

I am truly sorry for your loss, and may you never know any more. When pain is added to existing pain, it hurts worse because the original pain may have dulled but now flares up under the extra burden.

Wow - You hit the head of the nail!!
a couple of years later when my Daughter died and i thought i was over the 1st grief, it came back almost as if two-fold. If i count my younger Brother, I've experienced 6 deep losses. It stays with me and i still have poor days but i also get good days and so MAYBE i am getting better.
I would never wish any of my experiences and loss on anyone.

I also know from serious losses, far too many that I would never wish on anyone else. Good days are good days, love and appreciate them for what they are if you can. Loss and grief never leave, but sometimes they give us a bit of a breather.
