Forgetting Amnesia
show me how to love
for I’ve forgotten
I’ve put away its blanket
hid its spoon
remind me how all tender things
aren’t rotten
and tables are for turning
do it soon
I tripped up on my fear
about December
when you pulled
back the curtain in my eyes
and I don’t have the strength
and can’t remember
the things we've done
between the hows or whys
they say that love can cross
the widest nation
just seat me on your airplane
in blindfold
reintroduce with touch
its soft creation
don’t let me
grow familiar
with the cold
direct me with a kindly
well aimed shove
encouragement
and whisper of a clue
please leave me be
if you just play with love
I want so
to recall its ways
with you
for I’ve forgotten
I’ve put away its blanket
hid its spoon
remind me how all tender things
aren’t rotten
and tables are for turning
do it soon
I tripped up on my fear
about December
when you pulled
back the curtain in my eyes
and I don’t have the strength
and can’t remember
the things we've done
between the hows or whys
they say that love can cross
the widest nation
just seat me on your airplane
in blindfold
reintroduce with touch
its soft creation
don’t let me
grow familiar
with the cold
direct me with a kindly
well aimed shove
encouragement
and whisper of a clue
please leave me be
if you just play with love
I want so
to recall its ways
with you
