Looks like the theme of 'Nature' is in the air - techno-science would do well to return to the 'natural sciences' properly, instead of doing techno-copying and bio-mimmickry. All agrichemicals would be immediately banned, for a start.
I like the cleverness in your opening line "Our instincts are there for a reason" since reason normally rejects instinct as 'unreliable' and 'non-rational' - and yet reason, in the home of the intellect, makes its claim for prominence by the very fact that it is rational, and therefore (scientifically) reliable.
