Lost Ring Jan 1987

Curse that stone just lying there,
I remember how it made you glare.
Your friends and foes thought it unfair,
When you displayed to them your newest wear.
But as the days grew up and became a year,
You showed me how you didn’t care ,
As sharp and clean as that stone,
you cut and disfigured a love that had grown,
For such a wealthy expression of love to be,
Now its worth is only a million tears in the sea.

Author's Note
My fiancee left my engagement ring on the front door with a note.
This poem is the pain I felt then.
( I’m actually lucky...7 affairs in 7 years she had )
