Light That Ignites
(to a lighter)
You’re the extension of me,
The fire I seek,
The augmentation of my imagination
Of what I want others to feel,
You’re the redeemer to my affliction,
The enabler
That makes my fantasies so real.
You’re a god amongst objects,
A deity amid ordinary things,
You create the ardor in my life,
The means to my passions
And the joy that it brings.
You’ve been the key to my happiness,
The sage to my burning rage,
You’ve made my fancies come alive,
And provided fire
To the desire I want to assuage.
You’ve created so many flames,
Fueled each blaze for nights and days,
You kindle something in me,
Something primal,
Maybe a little bit animal,
I find it so incendiary.
You’ve been the reveler in my scheme,
The light that ignites this pyro’s dream.
You’re the extension of me,
The fire I seek,
The augmentation of my imagination
Of what I want others to feel,
You’re the redeemer to my affliction,
The enabler
That makes my fantasies so real.
You’re a god amongst objects,
A deity amid ordinary things,
You create the ardor in my life,
The means to my passions
And the joy that it brings.
You’ve been the key to my happiness,
The sage to my burning rage,
You’ve made my fancies come alive,
And provided fire
To the desire I want to assuage.
You’ve created so many flames,
Fueled each blaze for nights and days,
You kindle something in me,
Something primal,
Maybe a little bit animal,
I find it so incendiary.
You’ve been the reveler in my scheme,
The light that ignites this pyro’s dream.
