Caution in the Wind
I have these feelings of anxiety whenever the winds may change
It’s a mixture between excitement and maybe just a tad deranged
I’m not looking for a helping hand just here to say my piece
And when I’m done I’ll walk away a little lighter to say the least
My palms sweat and my whole body trembles when new thoughts arise
The only limit my own determination as I start to reach for the skies
Who knows what may lie on the horizon when you hear the siren’s call
Best to still keep a little caution lest you lose it all

Interesting serendipity here. I just posted on Gahddess's 29/30 poem, Tennyson's famous lines:
"I hold it true, whate’er befall;
I feel it when I sorrow most;
‘Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all."
(Alfred Lord Tennyson)
... which is a contrasting angle on life. I guess there is a time & place for everything.

There was once when I truly did lose it all, hit rock bottom and had to claw my way back up. However, a little caution, a little forethought, and I could have circumvented the whole mess.
