Accidental Heart
Walk along that empty path.
Wet your toes in the dewy grass.
Smile as we browse, hand in hand.
Shimmer in the sun.
Laugh when we tell stories of our youth.
Cry when you drop me off at home.
Call me, when you walk in the front door.
Giggle in the moon's gleam, as we talk late into the night.
Sob when we can't reach and it's just too much to take.
Grasp too tight when your heart threatens to break.
Cling to me when your world turns to ash.
Close your eyes before we crash.
It was my fault.
I drive too fast.
