Hooked On Him Forever
Her patience wanes, she counts down slowly
With each calm breath, she begins to feel lonely
To control her anger, caused by his mistakes
Just one mean look, that’s all it takes
Jekyll and Hyde, meet the monster
A pitiful apology, never enough to subdue her
Last night’s bliss, now forgotten dreams
This day brings demons, tearing them apart at the seams
Drowning in rage, nothing makes sense
Shutting love down, she builds her defence
Attacking him gently, until he is broken
Lures him in coyly, her contempt, softly spoken
Planning her exit, from this painful affair
He reaches to stop her, she feels her skirt tear
Looking into her soul, desperate for a connection
To remind her that, he is her addiction
A look of desire, forceful craving hands
Lifting her skirt, he makes his demands
Resistance is impossible, her love runs too deep
Two bodies bound together, she tries not to weep
Channeling their rage, into a sexual ecstasy
Plunging inside her, she accepts his apology
So quick to anger, and run away from it all
But then he reminds her, what made her fall
Tangled in knots, they climax together
Now nothing else matters, she’s hooked on him forever.

The piece is peppered with beautiful metaphors and a raw truth which is an overall joy to read. Even if we find ourselves asking why she keeps doing that to herself? But thats what makes it a lovely write.

This is a deeply sad poem to me. I've been on both ends of this rope, hung myself and been the hangman. Love is a drug that turns sex into fix that one fiends for and fiends on the desire. You have described in the most vivid scenes a play where all the world reads from the same script and the director is a fiend who always collects payment for his crime. And how I wish I were the writer of that play, just to be free of the character written on my skin. I was hoping all the while reading your poem, that somehow the ending would be different, but alas, you end with a heartache I know all too well, and somehow the fleshy satisfaction becomes a bandaide on a labotomy.
