Counting Down the Days
I'm counting down the days until I reach my goal
No longer feeling scattered; instead mature and whole
I look forward to that day where I can finally breathe
And see the look on my mother's face, knowing she's proud of me.
I’m counting down the days: 1, 2, 3, 4
I’ll never settle for less because I deserve more
All these years of hell will soon be behind me
I had to walk through the path of fire to accomplish my dream.
For what it’s worth, I’ve had my perspective changed
I learned the hard way that things don’t stay the same
But that’s okay, I also changed; I got wiser
I aim big; from a rookie to a supervisor.
I’m counting down the days: 5,6, 7, 8
I’m very responsible; never once was I late
As for 9 and 10; I’m still not there
But time goes by fast; I’ll be aware.
