A Glimpse at the Truth

I like the colors out here
Weed flowers shine a little brighter
And the moon that haunts us with what it’s seen us do
Hides a little higher

I creep out to watch you
Moving careful across the wooden path
And I wait to see what you’ve been keeping from me

I am the one you spend your days with
Your jester and shredded skin princess
Like a car driven into a lake
I wait for you to remember what you’ve left with me

You and your days are all numbered
But mine are spent counting and frustered

I like the heat from the stones
That I wait for you beneath
You walk over us, take a second to smile at the moon

The one you hide from is me
Abyssus abyssum invocat
The damned
Sleep quiet
And weep
