Hoffman’s Lovey Stars Divide – Day Eight

(sonnet)
Let’s take a moment here, a little pause,
A breath before my madness’ claims its space,
‘Cause things get weird from here, from what just was,
As mind begins to fracture and displace.

I had become a troubadour of sorts,
A loner making love to loneliness,
A six-string slinger bound for darker ports,
Whose only words were songs of heart’s distress.

Like Alice, once consumed, both short and tall,
My Lovely Stars Divide in twenty-fives.
They arc and wash in rainbow shattered walls
That break like waves but leave me more alive.

Let’s take a moment here, a little pause,
‘Cause things get weird from here, from what just was.
